If your question is not answered below, please email us at hey@paulinefabian.fr.

  • Where is the wedding?
The weekend will take place entirely at Château du Feÿ, Lieu-dit, 89300 Villecien, France. See the WEDDING and LOCATION sections of our website for more information.
  • How do I get there?
See the TRAVEL section of our website for all options, including coming by plane, by train, and by car.
  • Will there be a ceremony?
Yes, there will be a nonreligious ceremony on Saturday. Because civil marriages have to be performed by a French civil servant in a "mairie" (City Hall), we will get legally married in Paris prior to the wedding weekend.
  • What language will the events be in?
There will be English, French, and German spoken throughout the weekend. However, no worries if you don't speak all three languages – we will make arrangements to help everybody follow along.
  • Will the events be indoors or outdoors? What will the weather be?
Weather permitting, many of the events will take place outdoors. July weather typically ranges from 28°C (82°F) to 14°C (57°F). You can check out the current weather at Château du Feÿ here.
  • What is there to do in the area?
Please see the ACTIVITY section of our website for an overview of local activities. We hope many of you will combine our wedding with a visit to Paris and/or the Yonne region of Burgundy. Feel free to reach out at hey@paulinefabian.fr if you would like help planning your trip.
  • Can I come to just some of the events?
We ask all guests to join us from Friday evening to Sunday midday. If you can only make it on Saturday, please let us know, and we will try to find a solution.
  • What should I wear?
In general, please avoid wearing white or off-white during the weekend (white shirts are great, of course – just no white dresses, jumpsuits, or suits). In case of doubt, just reach out. • FRIDAY is garden party attire. Think light colors, summer dresses, jumpsuits, and casual suits without ties. We would love for you to incorporate cultural attire as applicable - think lederhosen/dirndl, kurtas/saris, kilts, boubous, dashikis, etc. (Fabian will be rocking lederhosen). • SATURDAY is an elegant summer wedding, so look your best: chic dresses and jumpsuits, as well as suits and tuxedos, ties or bowties encouraged. The outdoor paths are gravel, so choose your heels wisely. • Saturday and Sunday MORNINGS are casual. Feel free to wear comfortable summer clothing of your choice.
  • What else do I need to bring?
Pack comfortable clothes and shoes to explore the château’s outdoors. Bring a jacket as it might get chilly at night. If you'd like to use the private pool, plan to bring swimwear. And if you'd like to join the yoga class on Saturday, plan to bring workout clothes. If you stay on-site, towels, bedding, soap, etc. are all provided, so no need to bring any (but please check with us beforehand if you stay on-site in a campervan). If you stay off-site, please check with your own hotel or Airbnb.
  • Can you accommodate my dietary restrictions?
Yes, we're accommodating all dietary restrictions in your RSVP and will make sure you’re taken care of throughout the weekend.
  • Is the venue accessible?
All main events will be wheelchair accessible. Most outdoor paths are gravel. If you require accessible on-site accommodation, please let us know in the RSVP.
  • Can I bring my kids?
We love your children, but to allow all our guests to relax and enjoy themselves (especially you), we aim to keep the main events adults-only. Please reach out to us if you need help arranging a solution – we’re happy to help!
  • Can I bring my pets?
The venue allows for dogs, but the main event will be humans-only. Please let us know if you want to bring a pet, and we’ll try to work out a solution.
  • Can I take photos and videos?
Yes. We will have a photographer but you’re welcome to take your own photos and videos throughout the weekend (unless specified otherwise) – but please share them with us afterwards, per the PHOTOS section of the website.
  • I’m staying on-site at the château. When are check-in and check-out?
Check-in on Friday is from 3:00pm, check-out on Sunday is at 11:00am. We will not be able to arrange for earlier check-in or later check-out. However, on Sunday, you will be able to securely deposit your luggage until your departure from the château by 3:00pm.
  • Is there a wedding registry? Can I bring a gift?
We won’t have a registry. The best gift is to have you there for our wedding! If you still want to give a gift, we would be grateful for a contribution to our honeymoon – we plan on backpacking in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania in late 2025. See the GIFTS section of the website. Since we will be traveling back to Brooklyn after the wedding, we ask guests not to bring any physical gifts.
  • What's your story?
Since you're invited to our wedding, you probably know about that already. The short version is that we met at Yale, where we both studied and quickly fell in love. Pauline eventually had to move to London, so we managed an adventurous and happy transatlantic relationship for a few years. In 2020, we were ready to start a new chapter: moving to California together. Fabian was already there, but then the pandemic hit and borders closed. So instead, we escaped to Paris on a whim, where we were finally, after years, able to move in together – and soon became certain that we're in this for life. In late summer 2023, we got engaged in our old neighborhood in Paris. Today, we live in Brooklyn with our cat Beaufort (or Bobi), where we built a community of close friends, pursue independent careers, and continue to share our curiosity and love for each other every day. We're so happy we get to celebrate our wedding with you all this summer!
